Daniel James

SVP, Development

Daniel brings 20 years of upstream oil and gas experience including negotiating oil and gas mineral leases, operating agreements, joint development agreements, and surface use agreements.  He has been on the development team for this project since the initial acquisition of the property and led the team responsible for the acquisition of the Black Bayou salt dome in 2022.

Daniel has served as Chief Development Officer of Robertson Energy for the past 7 years, overseeing the exploration, land, and regulatory divisions of the company.   Over that time the company has drilled dozens of oil and gas wells along with several acquisitions and divestitures of Louisiana exploration and production assets.

Prior to joining Robertson, Daniel spent his early career as both and in-house and contract professional landman primarily in Southern Louisiana and Texas.  He has supervised M&A activity, due diligence, lease acquisition, and permitting for a variety of clients across the Gulf Coast. 

Daniel holds a B.S. in Economics from Louisiana State University.
