Tad Lalande

Chief Executive Officer

Tad Lalande brings more than 18 years of experience in the development, engineering, construction, and operation of energy assets to the Black Bayou Energy Hub team.  Tad has led the development of this project since its inception and has spent a considerable amount of time focusing on partner selection, capital raising, customer outreach, project feasibility, and general company setup.

A large part of his career was spent on EPC project execution, primarily at Technip (now TechnipFMC / Technip Energies), where he worked as an engineer, project auditor, and corporate portfolio risk manager in both Houston, TX and Paris, France.  While at Technip he gained extensive experience in the execution of major capital projects, participating in both project and corporate levels on EPC projects for ExxonMobil, Shell, Chevron, and Total (amongst others) that spanned the subsea, offshore, and onshore sectors of the global energy market.  A large part of Tad’s time at the corporate level was spent on large-scale LNG projects, including Prelude FLNG (Shell) and Yamal LNG (Novatek, Total, CNPC).

Prior to forming Black Bayou Energy Hub, Tad served as President of Robertson Energy, an upstream company that currently operates the oil and gas assets of the Black Bayou salt dome.  In that role, Tad managed a team focused on the re-development of the Black Bayou field through the use of state of the art seismic reprocessing techniques.  In his role as President he also spent a large part of his time working on debt and equity financings, capital budgeting, and investor relations.

Tad also spent time as Vice-President Corporate Development & Business Integration for Bernhard, a commercial engineering and contracting firm with a heavy focus on energy-as-a-service solutions.  While at Bernhard, Tad worked on M&A transactions and was part of a small team tasked with integrating 6 standalone businesses into a new company.

Tad holds an M.B.A. from the Rice University Jones Graduate School of Business (Honors) and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University.
